Air Gear theme seems to be more in sports thing. The main character is Minami Itsuki / Ikki Minami / Karasu (Crow) a junior high school student who initially hated Air Trek because a group always picked a fight with him and he loses. After he found an Air Trek, Ikki become attached to it. He even makes an Air Trek group with his friends: Kazu, Onigiri, Agito/Akito, and Buccha. Further more, Ikki knew about the Regalia, Seven Roads, and the Sky King.
As the story continues, Ikki will be able to meet with Takeuchi Sora, known as the former Sky King. Sora taught him how to use the wind (in manga) when Ikki being hospitalized after having a match with Kansai representative when he took Genesis as his team.
Though the anime end in the middle of the story, the manga still continued and become more exciting. More people came to challenge Ikki and his team who now lead the biggest Storm Rider team in
